I’m a lifelong, die-hard Jets fan. I want a franchise QB more than anything. It’s not the best fan experience to not know who your QB is going to be for all 16 games of a season. But no matter what I’m going to watch every snap of all 16 Jets games whether they are 16-0 or 0-16. That’s close to three and a half hours a week and around 56 hours for the whole football season. I don’t know how you value your free time but I put mine at a premium. If I’m spending those hours watching my football team, then I’m rooting for a win no matter what.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m perfectly capable of watching an 0-16 season, getting a franchise player and believing that nightmare season was worth it in retrospect. But on those Sundays I don’t get how any Jets fan could be rooting for a loss.

The NFL is set up now so that no team is that far away from 8-8. Of course you have the few elite team and the few bottom dwellers but most of the NFL is in the space where they are a few bounces going their way during the year between a 10-6 and 6-10 season.

The Jets just won a game so I don’t want you to think that I believe that the Jets are stones throw from an 8-8 season. They are very much a bottom dweller. The win against the Dolphins could be the only one they get this year but if you ask me if I would rather have a 1-15 season and have the 1st pick in the draft or a 4-12 season and the 4th pick, I’m taking the 4-12 season. I’ll take four happy Sundays over one.
